Product Review: Stainless Steel Water Bottle

I don't go anywhere without a bottle of water. I always have one in the house and if I leave, it's as important for me to grab as my purse, phone, and book are. I try to stay hydrated throughout the day and the best way to do that is to keep water close by. Sometimes, I don't mind if the water has gotten to room temperature, but especially during the hot summer months here in Iowa, I want my water cold, ice cold.

The INSPIRED HOME LIVING STAINLESS STEEL WATER BOTTLE is perfect for on-the-go water needs. I added ice to my water bottle during my latest shopping/errand running day. It was a sunny 80-degree day and I kept the water bottle in my car all day while I was in and out of stores. There was still ice in my bottle 7 hours later after shopping, but all the water was gone because I had drunk it all.

This Water Bottle holds 24 ounces of water. You don't want to fill it too full as the water will spill over once you put the lid on. This water bottle could also be used as a thermos to refill your coffee cup throughout the day. It is great at keeping your beverage cold or hot because of the stainless steel inside and out.

It doesn't have a "tinny" taste and even though it is heavier than other plastic water bottles, the benefit of keeping your water ice cold outweigh that.

The only downside for me was the drink opening. The diameter of the opening is 1 1/2 inches. It is a bit bigger than I typically like and frankly, I prefer using a straw. But, for the last two weeks, I have used this water bottle exclusively, to see if I could get used to drinking out of the opening and I did. I got used to it and didn't mind it as much as I thought. If you were really bothered by the opening, you could use this as a thermos to keep your beverage hot or cold and then pour into a different cup.

The cup fits in my van's cup holder, but not tightly. Since it doesn't taper down at the bottom, it sat up towards the top of my cup holder. But as you can see, in the top photo, it still fit ok. Overall, this water bottle is a hit for me. Since it has a tight seal, you could throw it in your beach bag for extra water throughout the day and not worry a bit about it spilling. Plus it will stay cold!

Summers under the big shade tree in our backyard will be so much more enjoyable with our new Brazilian Hammock Chair. I can't tell you how excited our whole family is about this chair. I have a feeling we will all be fighting over it this summer.

This is an oversized hammock chair in green and blue stripes. It is quite durable and extremely comfortable. You can sit upright or spread out the fabric and lay flat in it while swinging in the breeze. We chose to hang ours from a tree in our backyard, but it could be hung on porches or decks as well. It's light so you could move it around and take it with you if you go camping, you just have to have the mechanisms to hang it. It does not come with the materials used to hang it, but they were easily found at our local home store. My husband had it hung up in less than half an hour. 

This hammock will make the perfect reading spot for the summer. I can't wait to enjoy it...if I can ever get my daughter out of it!

Product Review: LifeKix Shoes

LifeKix Shoes 

I'm excited to tell you about some great shoes, perfect for summer. LifeKix is a small, family-owned company in Boston. Their first product launch is this women's mesh shoe. This shoe is designed to wear at the beach, on the lake, at the pool, or just casually around your home.

I have worn water shoes that offer no support or any benefits while wearing them. The previous water shoes I have tried weren't comfortable and certainly didn't look very fashionable. But LifeKix has changed that. They made their shoe as comfortable as a tennis shoe, but lightweight. They are very breathable and easily wash up with a hose. They even dry quickly. If they get wet, they aren't heavy and definitely not slippery. I could see my mom using these to do her gardening. They offer support without your feet getting too hot, and when you are done in the garden, just wash them off.

I love all the fun colors that are offered, but this purple was my favorite. I have worn them to water my flowers. Usually, I throw on a pair of flip flops and then as soon as my feet get wet, I'm slipping around on my flip flops. No longer an issue with these shoes.

LifeKix Shoes are extremely comfortable. For those who don't like to go barefoot or wear socks in the house, these would also make a great house shoe. There is the support of a tennis shoe, without the weight of one.

I wish I was going to the lake soon because these shoes would work great for getting in and out of the boat or walking along the shoreline. These would also make perfect beach walking shoes, which I am hoping to try out this winter!

If you are looking for casual, comfortable and fashionable water shoes, LifeKix has found the formula you need to make them your next favorite summer shoe! I highly recommend them! They are in the same price range as the Sketcher GoWalks, but they offer the benefits of wearing in the water or getting wet as well as lightweight comfort!

Product Review: Solar Motion Light

If you are looking to light up an area around your house that is maybe a little dark due to safety or security purposes, this light is for you. Maybe you don't like leaving all your lights on outside, but want to have something that turns on if a movement is detected, this light is for you.

These Solar Motion Lights  offer a great amount of light when motion is detected and just a bit of light when there isn't a movement. They are operated solely with solar power and store it up during the day so it can stay on all night.

We mounted our solar light near our storage area under our porch. It is a very dark area, especially in the evening, and our regular porch lights that we can turn on don't face that side of our porch. The light was easy to attach to the wall with a simple screw. Make sure that wherever you place it, it can still access enough light from the sun to charge itself during the day.

Once you walk into the perimeter area of the light, it will come on. There is some light already coming from it, but it becomes much brighter when you step into the area.

This is when the light is the brightest.

This is how the light is before it is activated by movement. 

I am really impressed with these solar lights and once we finish our addition, I could see us placing these on our new porch. Again, these lights have no wires or cords. They are completely powered by the sun and are water and heat resistant.

My daughter and I love to paint our nails. So having a way to paint them anywhere on the go is fun. With tweexy - The Original Wearable Nail Polish Holderyou can paint your nails even if you don't have a table to sit next to.

The tweexy fits on your fingers, which ever ones you choose. Any size nail polish bottle will fit inside the tweexy as the plastic is moldable. The bottle above is more of a square shape and it fit just fine.  It is nice to be able to sit anywhere and apply nail polish. But, there is a learning curve. You have to be sure you keep your hand upright. If you turn your hand even a little bit, you could end up spilling your polish, so be sure to keep your hand level at all times. 

If you are traveling and want to be able to apply polish without the option of a level surface to set your polish on, this is a great way to be able to do just that.
