Product Review: Island Fresh Coconut Oil

I had the pleasure of trying this huge jug of Island Fresh Coconut Oil over the past few months. I love coconut oil for personal use as well as in my cooking. There are so many benefits of coconut oil, that it truly can be used every day.

Island Fresh Coconut Oil is cold-pressed and never heated to protect the essential nutrients and antioxidants that make coconut oil so full of health benefits. There are so many ways to use this from the moment you wake up until you go to sleep at night.

• Add coconut oil to your coffee for Bullet Proof Coffee to kickstart your day.
• Use coconut oil on your skin after a shower to lock in moisture.
• Add a tablespoon of coconut oil to your mid-morning smoothie.

One of the main ways I use coconut oil is in my smoothies. I also like to use it when I cook my eggs as I like the flavor it adds to the eggs.

As I mentioned earlier, this is a huge jar, at 54 ounces, it will last you awhile. After making several smoothie bags and using in my cooking, I still have lots of coconut oil left over. After I removed it, my face felt really smooth and refreshed.  The hint of coconut was a pleasant scent.

The masque goes on smoothly and a little goes a long way. The directions say you can apply it 2-3 times a week, but even once a week would make a big difference in your skin care routine. Product Review: Live Ultimate EYELUMINATE Eye Cream

After reviewing a product from Live Ultimate several weeks ago, I'm fortunate to bring you another product that I've been thrilled with, EyeLuminate Eye Cream.

I used this eye cream every day for the month of February and was fascinated by the results. This has been a hectic month for me with multiple long days....one was a 21 hour day....late nights, early mornings...and I've been noticing my eyes have been puffier than normal. So I really focused on reducing that puffiness with the EYELUMINATE. If you notice on the below photo (sorry, it's the best I could do taking photos of my own eyes) the top photo is one taken after I woke up. The bottom is after applying the eye cream and waiting just a few minutes. The puffiness is gone.

The cream is non-greasy and you need very little for application, like less than a pea size amount for both of your eyes. I've been using it every day for the last month and you can't even tell I've used any of the product in the jar. I can easily expect this will last me, at least, six months.

At first glance, this small .5oz jar at $75.00 seems a bit much. But knowing that it'll likely last me several months, at approximately $.40/day and less if it lasts longer than six months and proof that the product works, makes it a worthwhile purchase. ***UPDATE**** This product lasted from February to June for me. I used it every day and so even though it wasn't 6 months, 4 months is pretty good.

My daughter and I love to paint our nails. So having a way to paint them anywhere on the go is fun. With tweexy - The Original Wearable Nail Polish Holderyou can paint your nails even if you don't have a table to sit next to.

The tweexy fits on your fingers, which ever ones you choose. Any size nail polish bottle will fit inside the tweexy as the plastic is moldable. The bottle above is more of a square shape and it fit just fine.  It is nice to be able to sit anywhere and apply nail polish. But, there is a learning curve. You have to be sure you keep your hand upright. If you turn your hand even a little bit, you could end up spilling your polish, so be sure to keep your hand level at all times. 

If you are traveling and want to be able to apply polish without the option of a level surface to set your polish on, this is a great way to be able to do just that.

Product Review: Live Ultimate Facial Sunscreen

Since I live in Iowa and don't get to see much sun in the winter, I decided to wait and try out this product during our Christmas break trip to Florida. I loved how the product came out like a mousse and the tint was the right tone for my skin. I expected this product to be light since the website's description of the product states that it is non-oily, non-greasy, and non-sticky. Unfortunately, as soon as I started to apply the product to my face, it became thicker and heavy. I have oily skin and this product was quite greasy and sticky on my face. I stuck with it and used it every day on my face whether we were outside in the sun or not. I continued to feel like my skin was greasy and didn't like how the makeup looked on my face with this underneath. It did protect my skin from the sun as I didn't have any burns on my face after spending several hours in the sun. 

After we returned home, I used it again in our cold, dry weather just to see if it was the humidity that was causing the product to feel so greasy. But, again, it was too heavy and greasy for me. This just isn't the product for my skin.

For consumers that are concerned about using safe, vegan products, this is something that you may want to try. At $48 for a 1.7 oz bottle, it is an average price compared to other high-quality facial products. It isn't just a sunscreen but also an anti-aging product that repairs damaged skin while providing sun protection.

I can tell you that before this Spring, I had never heard of HASK Hair Products. Since I am not one to turn away FREE hair products, I obviously said yes to trying them out.

You also don't need to use much product and when using the conditioner, I apply it just to my ends, not on my scalp at all. Same when using the deep conditioner and shine oils.

Product Review: Spa's Premium Dead Sea Mud Mask

I was offered the opportunity to try Spa's Premium Dead Sea Mud Mask.

I love trying new beauty products and was interested in the skincare benefits of this product. I appreciated that it is made with all natural ingredients including Shea Butter, Aloe Vera Juice, and Sunflower Oil, to name a few.  It offers anti-aging benefits and a natural moisturizer to reinvigorate your skin.

After having FOUR blemishes on my face in one day, I decided it was a good time to try out this mask.  I haven't had four zits since my teen years. Plus, I had an entire day at home, which meant I wasn't in a hurry to get make-up on and get out the door. I had a makeup free day ahead of me so felt it was the perfect time to try out the mask.

I applied the mask evenly across my face with my fingers. The mask was cool and reminded me of the consistency of pudding.  I applied it lightly, but can be applied thicker if you prefer.

It was wet and slimy, but dried quickly.

After it dried, it turned into a hard mask that made your face feel extremely tight.

You are to leave it on for 15-20 minutes. 

 I took it off at 15 minutes by removing with a warm wash cloth. 

 It wiped off easily.  

I then applied my usual moisturizer (Mary Kay Time Wise Moisturizer).

My face feels smoother and had a glow when I removed the mask. But, I will say, I couldn't wait to get the mask off. I didn't care for that tight feeling on my face. But, for 15 minutes, it is manageable.

You could use this on dry elbows, cracked heels, or other problem areas.

This product does contain benzoyl peroxide, which can bleach fabric. So, from then on he used white washcloths or just his hands. I neglected to see the small print on the material we were given to warm him about the bleaching affect. You should also test the product on a small area of your skin before all over use to check for an allergic reaction.
