Product Review: Trusted Health Products ReliefMD

Trusted Health Products sent me a bottle of ReliefMD to try.  I found the idea of an oil to help in the relief of sore muscles, headaches, and mosquito bites intriguing and was anxious to try it out. I was happy with another Trusted Health Product that I have tried. To see my review of that product, click HERE. To check out all of Trusted Health Products range of items, visit their website,  http://www.trustedhealthproducts.com/.

According to the website, ReliefMD uses a revolutionary new approach to extract living nutrients from plants and nuts in order to deliver a 100% pure formula of botanical oils (from nature herself) to feed our body the nutrients it wants. It states right on the bottle that ReliefMD is a massage in a bottle and I think that is a perfect description of it.

I wasn't surprised that the ingredients in ReliefMD included several types of mint. I have been familiar with using Peppermint Oil to combat headaches.  ReliefMD includes Peppermint, Wintergreen, and Spearmint as well as almond, olive, eucalyptus, and camphor oils. Once you apply the oil to the area, you will immediately start to feel it working and smell the minty odor. I applied a few drops to my fingertips and then massaged the area that was causing me pain. I am prone to migraines and headaches and have had several in the last couple months to give ReliefMD several opportunities for product testing.  I have been very pleased with the product and most of the time, it was enough to handle my headache without either an over-the-counter medication or my prescription medication. Sometimes it took the beginning edge off, but I still needed the medication for long-term relief. I was surprised by how strong the odor was as my husband could smell it when he walked in the room. However, I didn't find the scent offensive, but it was strong.

I also frequently have pain in my hand and fingers due to the beginning stages of arthritis. ReliefMD offered some much needed "relief" in my pain and stiffness.  I will caution you that if you have this on your hands or fingers, be very careful not to rub your eyes as they will burn.

If you are looking for a homeopathic way to treat sore muscles, headaches and swollen joints I would recommend trying this product. It also states it can help with mosquito bites and sunburns, but since I tried this product during the winter, I haven't had the opportunity to test those out. But, I do look forward to it easing the itching of mosquito bites this summer.

Obviously, you should consult a health care professional before trying any natural products.

For a limited time, the manufacturer is willing to offer my readers one FREE bottle. Product Review: Relief MD Botanical Splash from Trusted Health Products

Trusted Health Products sent me their Botanical Splash TM  Body Moisturizer and Revitalizer to try.

This product is the "Ultimate Dry Skin Solution" and during these cold winter months in Iowa, I need anything I can get to keep my skin moisturized.

I was a little skeptical because it isn't a lotion but a spray and I was afraid it would be sticky or greasy.  But it is not!

Each morning for six weeks, I sprayed the Botanical Splash TM on my legs immediately after my shower. I LOVED the citrus scent. It wakes you up and gives you that refreshing boost in the morning. I have noticed that my legs are much smoother and don't have that dry flaky skin that they usually have in the winter.

I think this product really offers two benefits: Moisturized skin and a Refreshing Scent that wakes you up!

This 2 oz bottle has lasted a long time because it only takes a couple sprays to have enough to smooth over your body.

The best part is there are no dead or processed chemicals in this product. Just pure Mother Nature, the way skin care is intended to be. Other products only work on the surface of the skin which does not take care of the problem at its source. Botanical Splash feeds your skin cells the nutrients they need to fight tomorrow’s dry skin today and today’s dry skin, now!

Here’s What Botanical Splash TM Can Do for You
  • Pores Appear to Shrink Giving a Smoother Skin Complexion
  • Feels like it Moisturizes Deep Down
  • Many Report a Natural Glow to Their Skin
  • Blemishes Seem to Just Fade Away
  • Skin Feels Clean and Conditioned
  • Makes You Look and Feel Younger
The real difference in Botanical Splash™ is that unlike the many skin care products you probably already have on your bathroom shelf, our product is NOT PETROLEUM BASED. It absorbs quickly into your skin and begins feeding the skin cells what they naturally need.

I didn't use this product on my face, only on my legs, because I tend to be oily year round, but I can see how this would be a great product to keep your face moisturized and the citrus scent would be refreshing in the morning. For especially dry areas or patches of rough skin, you can apply this to the affected area 2-3 times in a day. You should be able to tell a difference in the first day of use or after several uses in extremely dry areas of skin.

Lavender Oil Review

I am new to the essential oil community. But, I am slowing starting to use oils and am finding great comfort and benefits from using them.  I'll be sharing my experiences soon, but today I am sharing about my use of Lavender Oil.

Healing Solutions sent me a bottle of Lavender Essential Oil. This particular essential oil is Kashmir Grade Lavender Oil which is a rarer grade of lavender oil distilled from a lavender plant located in the Himalayas. It has a sweeter smell than lavender from other regions.

Honestly, I had been avoiding purchasing Lavender Essential Oil because I have never cared for the smell of lavender. I have gotten different pillow sachets scented with lavender and haven't cared for them. When I was offered a bottle of lavender essential oil to try, I figured I had nothing to lose. Surprisingly, I have loved using it. The smell is different than I remember. Maybe purer, or sweeter, as I mentioned above.

Lavender Oil is said to reduce stress and anxiety. It can eliminate headaches. It can be used to relieve joint and muscle pain. It can help reduce the itching of bug bites. It can help calm you and improve sleep.

I have been using the Lavender Essential Oil for the last two weeks. I have applied it to bug bites, to my hands for joint pain (I have arthritis in my fingers) and to my pulse points right before bed or when I need to reduce my anxiety.  I've been keeping the Lavender Oil right on my night stand so I can easily apply it right when I go to bed.

I am quite pleased with my results from using the Lavender Essential Oil. I was surprised that the scent didn't turn me off as much as I expected it to. I found I almost crave it when I go to bed. After applying it to the inside of my wrists, I find that I lay in such a way that I can breathe in the scent and instantly feel relaxed. Sleep has come quickly for me and has been more restful. I also found it eased the itching from a bug bite and reduced the pain in my fingers. On days when life is a bit stressful, just opening the bottle, taking a quick smell, and sitting for a moment can calm my mind and help me focus on the tasks ahead.

I am quite happy with my Lavender Essential Oil and will be using it for quite a long time. If you would like to purchase Healing Solutions Lavender Essential Oil, click the photo below:

Book Review: Organic Beauty With Essential Oil By Rebecca Park Totilo

ORGANIC BEAUTY WITH ESSENTIAL OIL
For Natural Skin Care, Hair Care and Bath and Body Products

This review is part of a book tour with Virtual Author Book Tours.  For more reviews on the ORGANIC BEAUTY tour, click HERE.

Essential oils and their use have increased in popularity over the last few years.  People have been using essential oils for years, but the increased interest in holistic health and aromatherapy have kicked their use into the mainstream.  Essential oils are being used for skin care, internal health, air purification, as well as treatment for medical conditons.

ORGANIC BEAUTY takes the guess work out of using essential oils and shares charts and lists of the various oils and how they are best used, what oils are best for certain conditions, and how they should be combined and/or diluted. The book is broken up in to chapters related to caring for your body, face, hair, mouth, hands/nails, and feet.  Each section is full of recipes with various flavors, scents, and treatments for self-care.

If you are interested in making your own soaps, lip balms, scrubs, powders, and bath oils or experimenting with different oils and their health benefits, this would be a great book to start with.  The recipes are all very simple to follow and use regular ingredients found in your grocery store along with the essential oils.  In fact, one recipe for a facial scrub uses cat litter! Now, I'm not sure I can imagine using cat litter on my face, but it states it purge toxins and other impurities found in facial pores.

I think this book assumes you are familiar with essential oils and their use. So for me, as a complete beginner and a bit confused about essential oils, I might want to do a bit more research before starting out in making my own products.

This book is a great resource for anyone looking to begin making products either for your own use or for gifts.  I think the first one I'd like to try making is the Mint-Chocolate Lip Balm.  Who doesn't want to put mint chocolate on your lips all day long? The information gained from the research Totilo put together can help those new to essential oils find the best treatment for their needs.
